Some of you may know my 1978 spider turbo from Colorado. I am rebuilding, modernizing and my goal is to make more linear power. I will keep you updated on my project and answer any questions you may have.
Here is partial list:
Garrett GT28rs turbo
Custom exhaust manifold
Custom intake manifold with Alfa GTV6 throttle body.
VEMS electronic engine management.
3" fabricated stainless steel exhaust system.
I am hoping for 300 wheel horsepower!
The old Spica injection wasn't up to task. Asking it to deal with 3500 foot altitude changes in 22 miles along with delivering 2 1/2 time more fuel was a bit overwhelming for it!

Major update.
We are almost done fabricating a stainless steel exhaust. I only got 20 years out of the last one! This one will be 3" front to back. The engine is sitting in the car and the intercooler is being modified for a 2 /34" outlet. It was originally 2 1/4".
The plumbing for the uprated fuel line (from 5/16" to 3/8"), , the turbo water & oil plumbing, vacuum plumbing & intercooler plumbing. Remounting the bypass valve (looks like it will end up on the intercooler). Doesn't sound like much, however I wanted it to look like a professional put it together, not like it was cobbled in someone's back yard. I'm hoping this version of my car will carry me into my "platinum years".Quite a change in what's available now compared to 1990 when I first put it together. Finding aluminum tubing with rolled edges is still a problem. Finding someone to put on a rolled edge is also a problem. If you don't use a rolled edge the clamp has nothing to "bite" against & they WILL come off! The availability of metric fittings is much better now than before.
